JAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council, Hidayat Nur Wahid, replied to the opinion of NasDem Deputy Chairman Ahmad Ali who said Anies Baswedan’s vote niche was in conservative Islam. According to HNW, NasDem also benefited from Anies’ vote when supporting him in the 2024 presidential election.
“The fact is that his voter (Anies) is not only the Islamic community, right, and in Jakarta NasDem his vote goes up, from 7 seats to 10 seats. And that means that NasDem also benefits from Mr. Anies’ vote,” said HNW, Monday, July 22.
HNW also denied that Anies was said to be identical to PKS. Vice versa if PKS is identical to Anies. Because he said, PKB actually benefited the most when supporting Anies in the 2024 presidential election.
“PKS is synonymous with Pak Anies, it’s not entirely true that we measure the presidential election in Jakarta. The PKB vote actually rose 100 percent in the DPRD, from 5 seats to 10 seats. For the DPR RI, it increased by 200 percent, from 0 seats to 2 seats. PKS votes are stagnant, the same,” said HNW.
“This means that people often say why Anies-Imin should be? Right, Anies voters are identical to PKS voters, PKS voters are synonymous with Anies voters, if that’s true, there should be more PKS. But in fact, there are more and more PKB in Jakarta. From 5 DPRD seats to 10 seats, PKS from 16 seats to only 18 seats. Adding only two, PKB increased by one hundred percent, up,” continued the deputy chairman of the MPR.
Therefore, HNW considered that the discourse that impressed Anies’ mass was the PKS mass was wrong. In fact, NasDem, he said, the seats increased from 7 to 10 seats.
“The mass of PKB supporters, if categorically it is said that Mr. Anies is a Modernist Muslim. Meanwhile, PKB is traditionalist, right. It turns out that PKS voters are often called Modernist Islam as well. So it turns out that Modernist Islamic voters, if the data is Anies and PKS, it turns out that in the context of the Central DPR, they don’t add, but for traditionalist Islamic voters, they add only 2 seats for PKS, while PKB adds 5 seats,” he concluded.
Previously, Deputy NasDem Ahmad Ali assessed that the voter niche of Anies Baswedan-Sohibul Iman was both conservative Muslims or right-wing. However, Sohibul has different opinions. According to the Deputy Chairperson of the PKS Syuro Council, Anies’ habitat is actually not in the Islamic party.
“Anies doesn’t have a party, so I hope then he doesn’t follow the wishes of party owners but he is more concerned about the future,” said Ali, Sunday, July 14.
Ali alluded to the 2017 DKI Pilgub incident. According to him, at that time Anies was in a position trapped with party interests.
“The 2017 political events to this day are still making an impression, I was also surprised when suddenly Anies was pinned to be a person who was very not or intolerant because I knew Anies well from a long time ago,” said Ali.
“But then when he fits into DKI then he embeds it (tolerance), with accusations that I think are far from facts. For what reason, because he is trapped. Well, I am worried that then Anies, whose voters are Islamic niche, tends to be right and also paired with the same niche,” he added.
